Who is Draupadi Murmu?

 

Draupadi Murmu was born into a tribal family on June 20  , 1958  in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha.

As soon as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)  has announced tribal woman leader Draupadi Murmu as the party's presidential candidate, the opposition seems to be in splits ever since, which seems to be messing up the entire math.  Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has made his intentions clear that he is supporting the daughter of Orissa.

Voting for the country's highest office, the president's post, is scheduled to be held on July 18. After the completion of Ram Nath Kovind's term, the country can now get a new president. The BJP has a woman candidate for the post of president, while Yashwant Sinha has been fielded as the opposition. The name of the bjp's woman candidate is Draupadi Murmu. Draupadi Murmu will file her nomination on June 24. If bjp's woman candidate Draupadi Murmu wins the election, she will become the second woman president of India. Let us know that before this, Pratibha Patil had the distinction of being the first woman President of India. Once again women are one step away from occupying the highest post of the country.

Draupadi Murmu was born into a tribal family on June 20  , 1958  in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. His father's name was Biranchi Narayan Tudu, who, according to his traditions,  was the head of the village and society.

Draupadi earned her bachelor's degree from Ramadevi Women's College in Bhubaneswar after completing her initial education from her home district. After completing his studies, he started his career as a teacher and worked in this field for some time.

Draupadi Murmu was married to Shyam Charan Murmu, from whom she had two sons and a daughter. Later, both her sons passed away and the husband also left and merged with the Panchtattva. It was a difficult period for Draupadi Murmu to get along with the children and husband but she did not give up and ventured into politics to do something for the society.

 

 

Draupadi Murmu's political career

 

He started his political career with the BJP from Odissi. After joining the BJP, he participated in the 1997 election of the councillor of Rairangpur Nagar Panchayat and won. The BJP made Murmu the vice-president of the party's Scheduled Tribes Front. After this, in the coalition government of BJP and Biju Janata Dal in Odisha, from 2000  to  2002, he did it. 

 He was the Minister of Commerce and Transport independent charge.  He  served as the Minister of State for Fisheries and Animal Resource Development from 2002 to 2004. He also won the legislative assembly election from Raegan assembly seat in Odisha. Later, he was also appointed the Governor of Jharkhand from 2015 to 2021  . She became the first woman governor of the state.
